Our Lady of Sion College is entering an exciting new chapter with the commencement of the next stage of the College Masterplan, the transformation of the former Science wing into a contemporary Learning Resource Centre. Endorsed by the College Board of Directors and delivered by Dimpat Commercial Pty Ltd following a rigorous tender process, the new Learning Resource Centre has been thoughtfully designed to reflect the way students learn today, and into the future. Informed by best-practice research in modern library design and shaped through meaningful consultation with students, staff and the College’s LRC team, the centre will be a dynamic, welcoming hub that supports curiosity, collaboration and creativity.

Centrally located within the College, the Learning Resource Centre will provide a diverse range of learning environments, from quiet spaces for focused study and research, to flexible areas for collaboration, reading and independent learning. Positioned alongside the piazza, the centre will also foster social connection, supporting student engagement and wellbeing beyond the classroom.Designed with flexibility at its core, the space will feature adaptable seating and open shelving to create a light, inviting atmosphere. Enhanced access to technology, including a dedicated makerspace, will encourage innovation, problem-solving and hands-on learning experiences. This final stage of the Masterplan represents the culmination of a vision first shaped in 2018, a vision grounded in the belief that thoughtfully designed spaces inspire learning, enhance teaching and nurture wellbeing. The new Learning Resource Centre will stand as a vibrant symbol of this commitment, enriching the experience of every student and staff member for years to come.
